We take the health and safety of all our members very seriously, visitors, staff, and self-employed personal trainers – this is our number one priority.
We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and we are following the advice provided by Public Health England (PHE). In addition, we are working very closely with our industry governing body UKActive and other gym operators in the UK.
THE MAIN GYM WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED
HOWEVER, WE NOW HAVE AN OUTDOOR AREA!
We now have an Outdoor Gym in what used to be our car-park! The car-park is therefore no longer available to cars!
There are a number of machines and benches now located outside with a canopy to cover most of it, so you can work out in the sun (or rain)!
Due to Social-Distancing Regulations we can only have so many members in the area at any one time. By law, it has been determined that each person must have 3 square metres. On this basis, we can legally have up to 40 people in this area per hour, however until we can ascertain properly how comfortable this feels, we are restricting the numbers to 10 per hour. To ensure you aren't turned away book your time online through the Members' Area. If you book a time-slot, please make sure you are on time. If you are more than 15 minutes past your time-slot, we cannot guarantee access, as staff will man the gate for the 1st 15 minutes of each hour, but after then will have to return to other duties.
Please be aware that whoever mans the gate will be taking your temperature with an infrared forehead thermometer. If it is determined that you have a fever, you will not be granted access and you must return home immediately to self-isolate. Contact your doctor ASAP where you will be given access to Track & Trace.
Whilst using the facilities, you must maintain a social distance of 2 metres wherever possible. Any equipment that you use, you MUST clean yourself with the cleaning products provided at every point you have touched it and return it to the racks provided. The machines will have touch-points taped up so that you know where to clean. If you do not follow these rules, you will be asked to vacate the premises. Anyone that repeatedly ignores these rules will be given a 2-week Time-Out, as though you were self-isolating!
The changing rooms and toilets will not be open for Public use, so please arrive ready to train and make sure you have used your own bathroom facilities before coming!
You will still be able to purchase water and a shake - but these are for take-away only- there isn't an area dedicated for you to stay and relax in.
Your session MUST end 50 minutes into each hour. Please do not ask for "One more set" - these conditions are part of a frame-work that allows us to stay open, which means your compliance is without question. This gives staff enough time to check the area before the next time-slot.
Thanks for your patience and support at this time.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF I WANT TO WORKOUT REMOTELY?
Our MBGFit Fitness/Nutrition tracking app was a paid subscription service. Now that the gym has been forced to close, we have opened this service up free of charge for all our members to use.
The app includes:
- The ability to record and track both prescribed and personally created workouts (all workouts include written and video instructions),
- The ability to connect with your FitBit, Withings accessory, Apple Watch & MyFitnessPal for a much clearer view of your health & fitness.
- Ability to submit workout videos for trainer feedback.
- Nutrition Plans available from £25/month - app supplies your shopping list!
- Option to buy into extra support and advanced workouts.
Once the main gym reopens you will continue to have free access to the app, but all further bespoke plans will come at an additional cost. Bespoke Nutrition plans endorsed by Dietitians at Evolution Nutrition will incur an additional free, which is determined by the level of complexity to your plan.
